The 21 Dimensions of Hotel Revenue Discovery

After posting the 21 Basic Revenue Management Questions That Can Only Be Answered With Math, several readers asked me what is the best order to tackle each question.  Coincidentally, I happen to have created a printable cube for participants of our live course on Rooms Revenue Analysis (online next month) that lists the 21 dimensions of analysis that are available in any PMS system.  In other words,  you don’t have to go looking for this data because you already own it.  The dimensions are listed in the order that revenue data should be analyzed. Obviously this is just a general guide, but it does help you think through the process of how to data mine any Rooms Revenue problem.

The cube shows a different analysis category for each side.  You can download the file, cut out the cube template and paste together. Click on image to download in .pdf.  I keep this cube on my desk to remind me where to look for opportunities and challenges, specially when I engage a new client.
